A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Hays earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Hays completed both his internship and residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hays completed his Corneal Fellowship at the prestigious Dean A McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Hays was founder of the Atlanta Eye Surgery Group, which merged with Omni Eye Services in 2001. He specializes in cataract and corneal surgery.
