All Laser LASIK - Atlanta

LASIK is the most popular method of laser vision correction. First performed in 1991, the procedure has evolved dramatically. At Omni Eye Services of Atlanta, we perform an ALL LASER LASIK procedure called, zLASIK to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

zLASIK combines the unsurpassed safety of the LDV Ziemer femtosecond laser that makes the corneal flap with the accuracy and precision of the VISX Star S-4® excimer laser that reshapes the corneal tissue.

The first step in having zLASIK involves a series of tests to determine the individual characteristics of your eye. This digital information will be used to design a personalized laser treatment for each of your eyes. After a thorough eye exam, you and your doctor will determine if z LASIK is an option for you. If you are a good candidate, you will be given additional information about the procedure that will allow you to make an informed decision about whether to proceed. Be sure you have all your questions answered to your satisfaction.

You will arrive about an hour before your scheduled procedure. Information about your eyes will be reconfirmed and then your eyes will be completely numbed with eye drop anesthesia.

Next, using the LDV femtosecond laser, we create a thin, blade-free flap of tissue. In addition to making LASIK a safer procedure, the LDV femtosecond laser allows us to customize the size, thickness, and orientation of the flap for each eye.

After the laser reshapes the cornea, the flap is gently folded back into its original position where it bonds without the need for stitches.

Many patients experience a dramatic improvement in their vision immediately after the procedure. Most people return to their normal activities within a day or two.

Dr. Rishi Parikh performs LASIK at a local laser center.  He joined Omni Eye Services after completing his corneal fellowship training at the world renowned Corneal Associates of New Jersey, where he performed surgical management of corneal diseases as well as refractive procedures including LASIK, PRK, and PTK.  “I am thrilled to be with the well-trained team at Omni Eye Services”, Dr. Parikh recently said in an interview.  “The customer service provided by Omni, both to patients and referring doctors, is like nothing I have ever seen.  I am proud to be a part of it!”
