
Dr. Diana Scavuzzo was born and raised in Blairsville, Georgia. Her interest in optometry began when she started working for her local optometrist in high school. She attended the University of North Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology. She then attended the University of Georgia, where she performed research in rare genetic conditions of the eye. She received a Master of Science in Cellular Biology from UGA. Dr. Scavuzzo received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Scavuzzo has had a passion for education. She has worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate and medical students. She has also been a tutor and clinical skills instructor for optometry students.
Dr. Scavuzzo completed externship rotations at University of Pikeville in KY, Marietta Eye Clinic in GA, and Omni Eye Services in GA. She is incredibly grateful to return to Omni Eye Services for her residency and hopes to continue to expand her knowledge and expertise in advanced ocular disease.
