XEN Gel Stent

The Xen gel stent is a surgical implant designed to lower high eye pressure in patients who have high eye pressure and moderate-advanced glaucoma. The stent can be implanted with cataract surgery, or as a stand-alone procedure.

The stent is small and not easily visible to the naked eye. Compared to the classic glaucoma drainage procedures (such as tube shunt or trabeculectomy), the Xen stent is associated with fewer complications and is more tolerable to the eye. You may or may not need to stay on your glaucoma drops after the procedure. Dr. Yadgarov will help determine your drop regimen during the post op period.
